Hours
We are open Monday through Friday, from 6:45 am to 6:30 pm. In cases of bad weather, if Arlington Independent School District closes, we will also close.
Holiday Closings
The following holidays are observed as days when we are officially closed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Severe Weather and Drills
To prepare for fire, severe weather, or disaster evacuation, we have regular drills and practices so your child can react in a safe and orderly manner. If any actual emergency occurs, requiring evacuation of Destiny Academy, we will notify you as soon as the children are safe. In cases where we have to close due to severe weather, the closing will be announced on a local radio station as well as on television on Channel 8, Channel 5, and Channel 4. If you have any questions, please contact the director.

Child’s Location For Learning
All classrooms are open by 8:15 am. Prior to 8:15 a.m. and after 5 p.m. children may be grouped with other classes by age. If you are uncertain of where your child is located, check with the office. Once you pick up your child(ren) from their teacher, please do not let your child(ren) wander in the center. Unsupervised children will be sent back to the classroom.
Security
Every child has their own code and the center requires that you code your child in and out every day. There is a $1.00 clocking fee if you fail to do so and the office has to clock your child in or out. If an adult comes into the center and knows the code we consider that adult screened, however if their name is not listed on your authorization form your child will not be released. If the adult does not know the code and we do not recognize them they will be required to present ID. Other security measures include camera monitoring throughout the center and locked and limited access.
Visitors
Because of our “Open Door Visitation Policy”, any person coming in the center during school hours (6:45 am – 6:30 pm) to visit or observe must come by the office first and receive a visitor’s badge. Persons will not be allowed in classrooms without a visitor badge. Please do not bring younger children if you are coming to observe your child’s class.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch, am/pm snacks will be provided. We provide nutritionally balanced snacks, meals, and cooking activities. Menus are posted in the center, and copies are available upon request. We encourage the children to have a “Hello Bite,” which means to try a taste of different foods. We limit sugars and prefer birthdays celebrations brought by parents consist of raisins or other fruits, juice-sickles or other nutritious alternatives to cake and ice cream. We provide approximately two-thirds of the child’s daily nutritional needs. Adults/teachers eat seated with the children, except for the instant staff. Mealtimes are relaxed times, rich with conversations and fellowship. Parents may join us for lunch.
